With a life span of a minimum 600 years, waste fishing line has no place discarded on the bank side. The aim of the TippetTrap is to make it easy and effective to securely store waste tippet and monofilament line. Trying to shove it in a pocket, for it to only get pulled out again with wet hands, really isn’t a solution and cutting it into small piece and throwing it on the ground is unacceptable.
Adding waste line is very straight forward, fold the end of the line into a small loop and press it into the fish shaped slot, hold with your thumb and the Velcro will pick up the line as the knurled cap is rotated.
It has a large capacity, meaning you’ll only likely need to empty it a few times a year. Emptying is easily done, the rotating cap is pulled off the main body (a firm pull in opposing directions is all that’s required), exposing the velcro and waste line. Cut down the slot with a pair of scissors, the line can then be removed and disposed of properly.
